I have been thinking a lot this week about my friend Doug Jackson, who passed away recently after a long bout with cancer.

Doug touched hundreds of lives, and those of the four Greens in particular.

Each and every member of our family performed with Doug. All of us at one time or another in The Follies, but Alex and Jack were particularly blessed to work closely with Doug more than once.

Doug gave voice to the vicious plant Audrey II in "Little Shop of Horrors" three times. And Little Shop was the first play Alex ever saw. In high school, Alex channeled his inner DJ when HE sang the role of the carnivorous plant.

As an eighth-grader, Jack was cast opposite Doug in the two-man show "The Cay," at Act I of Benton County.

At one point, I realized Debbie was the only member of the family who had never had her picture taken with Doug. We remedied that at KCCK's "Smooth Brunch" Brunch event in 2011.
